Hello,
Does Apatar is compatible with 64 bit systems? i'm having problems trying to run it on a windows vista home premium sp1 64-bit machine. It just doesn't run, but it doesn't throws any error either.
Any clues?
Thanks in advance. |

We do not test Apatar on Windows Vista and we are not 100% sure if Apatar would work there or not. Please check your security settings, firewall and if Vista allows Apatar to run and if javaw.exe is running in Processes in Task Manger.
I suggest installing Apatar on XP.

Thanks for your fast response Sergei,
I'm not a big fan of Windows Vista, i'm just using it for testing purposes in my laptop, my project involves integration of Sugarcrm with a self service web portal, i.e. when a new member subscribes to our business via the portal i will create his/her corresponding account in sugar, so marketing & sales departments can follow up the new client. The problem is that Sugarcrm & the web portal both are running on a 64 bit windows server 2008 box, i tough that i could just install Apatar in the server and create a scheduled task to perform the integration.
Any suggestions? |

Apatar does not support 64 Bit Systems. However, it is not necessary to install Apatar on the same 64 bit windows server 2008. You may install Apatar on the supported server or PC. The only requirement is that a server or PC where Apatar is installed has connectivity/network access to your SugarCRM and web portal. Thus you can use Apatar for integration of SugarCRM with a web portal.

Below please find complete description as we provided to the similar thread:
System: 64bit Windows 7, UAC enabled
First there was an error like 'Cannot find javaw'
Check on java version from command line but the system didn't seem to see Java at all. Adjusting the path didn't help. So we just uninstalled the java that was there (in C:\Program Files (x86)\), downloaded the newest java from www.java.com (decided to try 64bit java) and installed it to C:\Program Files\ (this is the default folder Java installer proposed). Now the PC could see java ok
BUT
it was throwing 'Can't start application. Only one instance allowed'. All we did is we just uninstalled Apatar from C:\Program Files (x86)\Apatar and installed it to C:\Apatar directly (unchecked 'Java installer' at the first installer screen)
